I have done quite a lot of work for this people – The National Council for Graduate Entrepreneurship – and I am very proud to be part of the success.
Be that the book that Dr David Bozward and I wrote about setting up businesses with passion (www.makeyourpassionasuccess.com)downloaded some 6000 times already.
Or the videos we created to help inspire students to start up (housed in youtube)
Or the capture competition which helped students create new ideas to help market entreprenuership.
All these ideas helped an organisation which was set up in 2004 and in 2005 and started a number of programmes and projects to help cultivate entrepreneurship in higher education.
To evidence the impact of these programmes an independent evaluation of NCGE’s work was carried out by EKOS a leading independent UK consultancy specialising in economic and social development.
Key Impact: every £1 invested in NCGE programmes = £11 return on investment to the UK economy. Which is amazing.
Ekos estimated the total net additional GVA (Gross Value Added) to the UK economy of NCGE programmes is £68.3m.
Other programmes such as a £6m ‘Enterprise Champions’ project in the north west and a national programme for academic entrepreneurship started in 2010. And I was happy to help Manchester with this.
Not only helping Innospace but also mentoring for Flying Start which is estimated to provide a return on investment ratio of 17:1! *
Flying Start Online having over 27,000 graduate entrepreneurs as members and over 8,000 students are engaged annually in Flying Start activity with 30+ university enterprise societies
400+ companies have started through Flying Start and over £1m has been raised for them Graduates.
This is the kind of thing I am passionate about and very proud to be involved in.
As a lot of the success, of what we worked on, has been based on some #greatmarketing from my company (Great Marketing Works)
